On August 18th, HEXONET and Namescon teamed up to operate an sunset boat cruise just off the coast of beautiful Vancouver, Canada for customers, domain enthusiasts, business partners and industry friends. Many of our customers who have been with us for years signed up and the cruise gave HEXONET an opportunity to meet face to face, say thank you, and show our appreciation for their loyal patronage.

The highlight of the evening was a Domain Expert Panel, which included participants Kevin Kopas (PIR), Amanda Fessenden (Uniregistry), Daniel Schindler (Donuts), Marc Gawith (Rightside), and Tony Kim of HEXONET. Moderated by NamesCon founder Richard Lau, panelists shared their personal stories of how they came to be involved in the domain industry and discussed how the industry needs to come together behind joint marketing efforts to bring more awareness about new TLDs. A common thread in the discussions was that more cooperation within the industry - potentially even in the form of commercially bundling TLDs among different registries - is needed to communicate the value of creative TLD marketing and online identities to a wider marketplace.
